Boys Golf

Batavia’s boys golf team enjoyed a successful 2023–24 season, contending for the DuKane Conference title with a third-place finish at the conference championship tournament and even winning the West Chicago Invitational behind a season-low team score of 313. The Bulldogs carried that momentum into the IHSA postseason, finishing as runners-up at their Class 3A regional to advance and then tying for sixth at the sectional—just three strokes shy of a team state berth. Senior standout Andrew Freedlund led the way by firing an even-par 72 at sectionals to qualify for the state finals as an individual (he went on to place 68th in the state field). Junior Ryan Augustine, an all-conference honoree, also consistently paced the squad – including a medalist 76 at the West Chicago Invite – as Batavia capped the season with multiple tournament trophies, a deep postseason run, and a return to the IHSA state stage.
