Artist’s Statement
For me, painting is breathing... inhale ideas, ideologies and passions, exhale them onto canvas, paper, and wood.
Exploring unusual materials and experimental techniques that create unique surface texture, line, form and color is an ongoing part of my process.
I tend to work in a series manner, delving into a method or theme for a period of time, usually until it plays itself out. This can range from weeks to months, or sometimes years, before I move on to whatever is next.
With each new series, I tend to bring along something from the work that preceded it.
Over time, I've created my own visual vocabulary and voice.
